Fishing Report 07/09/18

We had another fantastic week of fishing!

Striped Bass are still the main target as the Bluefish are slowly making an appearance but it looks to be a week or two behind. Nice fish pictured above by Mike V. and company from today’s charter. The surprise catch of the day? Atlantic Mackerel! Great sign to see them back in our waters again and we are sure the blues and bass will be gorging themselves on these as this is typed.  We also saw a few nice 3lb+ Seabass come over the rail today. Still not what it was last year yet, but improving daily due to the 90+ degree weather we have been having. Porgies are filling in nicely and we managed a few hubcaps today pushing 3 lbs. Stripers are still in a migratory stage and every day is different. In the early morning we had nothing but keeper sized fish to 34″, later in the morning it was all shorts. The beauty of our special 6 hour (half day) charter is that we usually catch both tides in one charter.

If you haven’t booked your charter yet, we don’t know what else to tell you….but the fish are here! Weekends are filling up quickly but as we always say, weekdays are the best days to go. Very little boat traffic or fishing pressure….except by us.

And if you can’t put a group of six people together, check out our

This offers a great way for single anglers or small groups to experience private charter fishing without renting the whole boat.
