Striper and Fluke Fishing Report 07/09/16

Striper Fishing has been good to excellent. Some days are great, others it is a challenge to find enough bigger fish. Lots of action though with smaller fish in the 24-27 inch range. Bluefish starting to make an appearance also. One trip had 51 bass on a 7 hour trip. A 40+ pounder also hit the dock this week as well. Best bet is the 7 hour trip to guarantee you catch both sides of the tide. (Cost per person is $20 more for the extra 2 hours).

Scup, Sea Bass and Fluke fishing has been excellent but not so much in the nearby haunts yet. Bucktails and Squid strips produced equally well on the Fluke. Sea Bass and Scup leaned more towards the clam baits. The 7 or 10 hour trip is the best option currently. Trips to Montauk and Block Island have produced very well on all of these bottom species.

We will be running special Montauk fluke trips mid July through the end of August.

Also heading out on a few “exploratory” trips in the next week.

We will post the results once we have them!
